The prefix Sri (also spelled as Shri, pronounced as shree) renders as one who takes delight in’ Sri Lakshmi, meaning wealth, wealth of any kind. Any thing that need be affluent gets the auspicious prefix or suffix ‘Lakshmi’, or ‘Sri’ like Rajya Lakshmi (Wealth of Empire), Shanti Sri (Wealth of Peace), etc. In modern India, common titles standing in for the English Mr. and Mrs. are Shri (also Sri or Shree) and Shrimati (also Srimati or Shreemati), as in “Sri Gupta” or “Srimati Mangeshkar”.
In Uttarakhand, after the worship of the goddess on Diwali night, the Shankha or Conch is not blown. This is because the shankha is also from the ocean like the goddess herself, so it is given a day of rest.
Lord Tirupati temple, which is situated in Andhra Pradesh in India, dedicated to Lord Venkateswara is said to be the richest god in the world. Since at the the time of Srikrishna Devaraya there is donation of gold to that give it the stature of the richest temple in the world.
The gold is around 11tonnes of which they are all ornaments donated by Devotees. It was said that from 12th century kings has donated many gold donations.I pray to the world’s richest God to sprinkle some prosperity, happiness and peace in this world and some richness to me also!
An Indian God is weighed down, not only with the prayers and requests of the millions of followers, but also with more than 11,000 kg of gold, ornaments and other precious jewels.The 8ft main idol of Lord Venkateswara of Tirumala is loaded up with at least 60-70 kg of gold ornaments each day and it is estimated that in a single day the offerings to god ranges between 80 lakhs to 1.5 crore rs. Just a single crown weighs about 30 kg. The temple, also known as Tirupati Venkateswara Temple, is the richest and the most visited place of worship of Hindus in the world.

Currently there are nearly 11 tonnes (11,000 kgs) of Gold ornaments and vessels in Lord Venkateswara possession ( Actually with the trust which runs temple of Lord Venkateshwara in the foot hills of Tirumala). You are amazing that how the trust are keeping the records of this huge list of precious items.
But The administration maintains 19 records to register the accounts of these jewels, vessels and precious items. The most exquisite and precious among the riches of Lord is the “Vajra Kireetam” the diamond crown which was designed by TTD in 1986.
This was the third on in the crown series of the Lord which was prepared at a cost of Rs 5.73 crore using 28,369 diamonds of high quality and 26 kgs of “aparanji” (pure) gold. The entire weight of the kireetam is about 13.36 kgs. As per current rates, the crown might cost over Rs 50 crore. In the temple the black idol of Lord Balaji is covered with gold, jewellery and precious ornaments and its estimated height is aproximately 2 meters.
The sacred shrine is visited by millions of devotees from far and wide and has been worshipped consistently since the past thirteen years. Every year more than 12 million people visit this temple from within India and the world. Every year the temple receives around Indian Rs.10 Billion ( More than 200 Million US$) in offerings from the devotees.
